HELP! trying to update my HTC Eris won't go to my homepage?

I updated a file that would let it go to 2.2 froyo but i didn't work for me and now my fone wont get off this stupid wallpaper with words falling down then a gray droid is in the background. Please let me know if there is anyway to get rid of this and get my phone back to normal.
