Do Europeans do math differently from the rest of the world?

A while back a SIMPLE Algebra question was posted. All the Americans and Middle Easterners were coming to the same conclusion, why the Europeans were coming to a different (AND WRONG) conclusion. Then this douche bag from Denmark pointed out "It's a common mistake Americans make"
