Buying cigarettes in the US without an I.D?

when my friends and i were all way to young we just sat outside a gas station and waited until we found someone that would buy them for us. when we got a little older (around your age) we'd have an older friend get them. hope you're bringing lots of money, they're crazy expensive in new york.
